Three area volleyball players honored
Three area athletes shared Western Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association’s Player of the Week honors.
Haley Nicholson from South Fayette and Rachel Beyer from Chartiers Valley garnered the recognition in Class AAA.
A senior setter, Nicholson has the Lions ranked fifth in the division behind No. 1 Hampton and No. 2 Thomas Jefferson. Beyer is a senior outside hitter for the Colts.
Abbie Maziarz earned POTW laurels in Class A. A senior middle hitter, she has Bishop Canevin in the No. 1 spot ahead of Greensburg Central Catholic and Our Lady of the Sacred Heart.
