Peters Township rolling up wins on the links

Peters Township ran its record to 6-0 overall and 3-0 in Section 6 in WPIAL Class AAA boys golf action.

The Indians posted league wins against Baldwin, Mt. Lebanon and Thomas Jefferson and added a non-section win against Chartiers Valley.

In a 173-220 triumph over the Colts at Lindenwood Golf Club, Austin Malley and Griffin Hansberry fired 34s. Colton Luzk, Nick Wetzel, Nick Haught and Chris McCay each shot 35 for the Indians, who finished 7-under par as a team.

Nick Schaab led the Colts with a 39. Jake Federouch followed with a 39.

Other CV contributors included: Gavin Waldron, Derek Armfield and Luke Hinds.

In a 189-250 win against the Highlanders at Valley Brook Country Club, Lusk shot the low score of 35 followed by Hansberry’s and Ben Miller’s 37s. Haught carded a 38 while Malley finished with a 42.

In a 176-210 victory against Lebo, Hansberry shot a 1-under-par 34 on the Blue Devils’ home course. Wentzel and Lusk finished with 35s while Malley and Haught submitted 36 scores.

Callan Wilcox led the Blue Devils with a 35. Other contributors included: Owen Snyder, Kyle Morgan, Charlie Mictretta and Jack Hartman.

In a 195-222 win against the Jaguars, Lusk shot an even par 36. Hansberry and Haught submitted 38 and 39 scores while Miller and Wetzel both shot 41s. Malley added a 42.

The Lady Indians kept up with their male counterparts, running their record to 3-0 on the season with wins against Bethel Park, 175-238, Oakland Catholic, 173-186, and South Fayette, 172-193.

Against BP, Ellie Benson (41), Brooke Vowcheck (42), Sophia Severns (42) and Amelia Severns (50) paced the Indians.

Ally Wolling, Olivia Willig, Carly O’Mara and Bella Bomar competed for the Lady Hawks.

Contributing to PT’s win over OC were: Benson, Vowcheck, the Severns and Ann Chang.

Though Marissa Malosh shot the low score of the match (38), the combined efforts of Benson, Vowcheck, the Severns, Gabby Catalogna and Chang were enough for the Lady Indians to dispatch the Lady Lions.
