Blaine Jones from South Fayette was one of the 56 student-athletes selected to the 2022 Junior Volleyball Association’s boys All-National team.

The team recognizes the top male indoor volleyball players competing for a JVA member club in the 15s-18s divisions this season.

A 6-4 outside hitter, Jones was a member of the Renaissance Volleyball Club. He also plays on the club circuit for Yorktowne Volleyball out of York.

Though South Fayette only started a volleyball team two seasons ago, Jones managed to earn all-WPIAL and all-state acclaim in both years.

Jones will continue his career at Penn State University.

The JVA squad will be honored during a virtual awards presentation to be held at 3 p.m. July 28.

The JVA is a non-profit organization that promotes the growth of youth and junior volleyball through program and resource development, education and events.

The organization was formed in 2006 with a primary focus of being a voice for junior volleyball club directors and coaches. It is the only organization that is focused entirely on youth and junior volleyball.

This is the inaugural year for the All-National team.

“These athletes deserve to be honored for their dedication to the sport they love playing,” said JVA Director of Member Development Lisa Wielebnicki. “We are extremely thankful to the nomination committee for their time and effort put into this impressive list of junior male athletes.

“Boys volleyball truly is on the rise and together, with JVA clubs and boys coaches around the country, we are anticipating more amazing things to come for our sport.”
