WPIAL establishes Counselor of the Year Award

The WPIAL and Dunkin’ have teamed up to highlight the impact school counselors can have in students’ lives by creating the WPIAL High School Counselor of the Year Award. Nominations are now open until Monday, April 10.
The initiative helped kick off National School Counseling Week held from February 6-10. It allows anyone within the WPIAL network of member high schools to nominate a high school counselor who has made a profound impact on their school and student body.
The recipient will receive free coffee for a year at Dunkin’s Heartland Restaurant Group (HRG) locations, and will be honored at the WPIAL baseball championships to be held May 30-31 at Wild Things Park in Washington.
“We are proud to support the WPIAL and excited for the opportunity to support this campaign to recognize some of the incredible individuals that impact students in the communities we serve,” said HRG marketing manager Chelsea Halker.
Schools with the highest participation will be given the opportunity for a Dunkin’ Day, where representatives of the chain will visit the school to hand out promotional materials, coupons, and donuts (if approved).
