Mt. Lebanon, Bethel Park finish 4th, 5th in rifle
Mt. Lebanon and Bethel Park finished fourth and fifth during the WPIAL team rifle championships held Feb. 8 at the at Dormont-Mt. Lebanon Sportsmen’s Club in Canonsburg.
Butler won the title with a 799-49x score. It was the fourth championship for the Golden Tornado in school history.
Penn-Trafford (798-57x) secured runner-up honors while Trinity finished third with a 798-54x score.
The Blue Devils recorded a 798-49x score while the Black Hawks managed a 797-54x.
For the Blue Devils, who were Section III co-champions with Penn-Trafford, Zoey Nikolic (100-8x), JT Westwood (100-8x), Graceann Foster (100-7x), Sarah Jamison (100-6x) Emoy Guenter (100-6x) and Sigmond Kukla (100-3x) submitted the top scores.
Max Kazmierczak, Mattox Psilos, danielle Gilmore and Avi Remes also competed for the Blue Devils.
Top scorers for the Black Hawks were: Adam Calhoun (100-8x), Gianna LaMolinare (100-8x), AJ Huber (100-7x), Owen Chaffin (100-7x), Linsday Saffer (100-6x) and Freddy Mach (100-5x).
Other contributors include: Noah Wickberg, Arabella Kennedy, Seth Nguyen and Sydney Zuber.
There was only one perfect score in the match. PT’s Carlee Valenta shot a 100-10x.
