1 min read

Nine records were broken and one was tied during a two-day track and field meet held at Mt. Lebanon Stadium. Formerly the Jesse Owens and Hershey track meets, the event is now dubbed the Lebolympics.

James Winschel (Boys 5-6) broke his older brother Robert’s mark set back in 2009 with a new 400-meter time of 1:36.9. Winschel also set a new record in the 200 dash with a mark of 40.6.

Parker Carlson (5-6) set a new Tennis Ball Throw mark of 72 feet.

The 5- and 6-year old girls were not to be denied in the record breaking either as Mae Poppy threw the tennis ball 45 feet and Savannah Rentschler posted a standing long jump of 5 feet, 8 inches.

In the 7-8 boys division, Sullivan Antonelli tossed the softball 93 feet and Gavin Hauck ran the 100 dash in 16.1.

For boys 9-10, Connor Kytka set a new 100-meter time of 14.7.

Elijah Schaerli ran 28.3 in the 200 and Leah Drozda tied the old standing long jump record with a leap of 7 feet. Both competed in the 11-12 division.

There were 312 entries during the Olympics-styled competition.
