Among the distinguished guest members of the panel will be: Kristine Jost, NCAA indoor 3,000-meter champion from Villanova University; Ron De Angelo, UPMC Director of Sports Performance; Mark Hunkele, Pine-Richland coach and 63-time marathon finisher; Mike DiBiasi, UPMC sports performance dietitian and nutritionist as well as members of the Brooks professional distance running team, which is based in Michigan.
Mt. Lebanon cross country and track coach Oscar Shutt see the value in attending the two-day clinic.
“It’s very valuable to think about the entire package. Running is not just running. It’s mental. It’s the nutritional approach and it’s supplementing it with instruction and everything,” he said.
