FABUS RUNThe Joey Fabus Superhero Run Over DIPG 5K Race/Walk will be held at 9 a.m. Sept. 17 at Bethel Park High School.
The event is a fundraiser for DIPG and commemorates Fabus, an 8-year-old boy who was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor in May 2014 and died Jan. 21, 2015 from DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma). The cancer currently has a survival rate is 0%.
Proceeds from the race, which has attracted 400 runners in the past, benefit the Joey Fabus Childhood Cancer Foundation, whose mission is to raise awareness and funding to find a cure for DIPG. Visit jffccf.org for more details or to learn about the non-profit organization’s work.
In addition to runners, the event is seeking corporate sponsors. Donations are tax deductible.
