Upper St. Clair wins ultimate frisbee title

Upper St. Clair edged North Allegheny, 12-11, in overtime to capture the ultimate frisbee championship match held at Duquesne University.

This marked the first team title for the Panthers in its nearly two-decade history.

USC finished the season at 10-1 overall.

Previously, the Panthers went undefeated in the winter league and beat Fox Chapel, 20-0, for the city title. During that campaign, USC posted a 20-0 record.

Caleb Paparella coached the team. Hassan Saeed assisted.

Seniors Phillip Markovitz, Tyler Riemer, and Max McCallum served as captains.

Other members of the team included: Ryan Higgs, Cole Super, Peter Markovitz, Kevin Wehrle, Tyler Bowden, Nick Rosales, Jan Sames, Carter McClintock-Comeaux, Brian McFerran, Ben Wasson, Quinton Miller and Owen Damon.
