Artistic swimmers excel at regionals

Pittsburgh Artistic Swimming competed in the 2023 Regional Junior Olympic Championships held recently in Buffalo, N.Y.
The club collected eight gold medals, added three runner-up showings and two third-place finishes against five other clubs, including the Brecksville Blue Dolphins, Buffalo Swimkins, Midwest Mermaids, Rochester Dolphins and Town of Tonawanda Aquettes
The 16-and-over team took first place. The group included Bethel Park’s Ava Arnold, Lucy Martin-Farmer and April Murphy, Mt. Lebanon’s Leah Keen and Pittsburgh’s Charlotte Nortman.
The trio of Lebo’s Tilly Becker, USC’s Emily Lee and Grace Wu from Bradford Woods took the gold in the 11-12 age group. Arnold, Keen and Martin-Farmer secured the silver in the 16-and-over division.
In the solo category, Lee, Wu and Martin-Farmer captured gold medals while Keen and Arnold finished second and third in their respective age groups.
In the duet competition, Becker and Lee combined for first among ages 9-10 while Murphy and Nortman united for the win among ages 13-15.
Lee took first in figures. Martin-Farmer was runner-up. Bronze medalist included Wu, Keen and Becker. Murphy and Arnold both added sixth-place showings.
