Peters Township girls finish fifth at Foundation Meet
The Peters Township girls placed fifth in the team standings during the PIAA Foundation Meet, which is held on the state championship cross country course in Hershey.
Seniors Sydney Shock and Meagan McKenna led the the Lady Indians with Top 30 showings. Shock clocked a 20:20 for 22nd place overall while McKenna followed 17 seconds later to finish 29th.
Grace Senneway, Reagan Fisher, Alaina Abbato, Alexis Conway and Elizabeth Crossan contributed to PT’s Top 5 showing.
Caroline Adams of Mt. Lebanon was the area’s top performer. The senior finished 12th overall with a 19:55 time.
The Lebo ladies finished 15th in the Class AAA girls’ team standings.
Maeve McNamee, Lyra Stiglitz, Kate Mooney, Mackens Pozza and Josie Engle pitched in for the Blue Devils.
South Fayette finished eighth in the team standings, thanks to Lily Colombo’s 24th-place showing in 20:26.
Siya Joshi and Abby Poe finished in the Top 50. Their respective times of 20:52 and 20:59 positioned them in 37th and 42nd places.
Other contributors for the Lady Lions were: Nina DiMartini, Madeline Stock, Brenna Schmitz and Kaylee Hendricks.
North Allegheny dominated the Class AAA girls’ division, taking the team title with 46 points. Three runners placed in the Top 5.
Robin Kucler and Eva Kynaston finished 1-2 with times of 18:54 and 19 flat while Erin McGoey followed in fifth place.
In the boys’ competition, State College won the Class AAA team title. South Fayette, Mt. Lebanon and Peters Township finished 12th, 24th and 32nd in the standings.
Alas-Eddine Guetari from SF had the top showing, placing 27th overall with a 17:26 time.
Other contributors for the Lions were: Griffin Martin, Josh O’Korn, Evan Dawson, Tim Danziger, Josh Gilberti and Connor Kuglar.
Zach Byers paced the Indians. He placed 38th overall with a 17:39 time.
Other top finishers for PT included: Caleb Arabia, Dalton Phelps, George Bondi, Troy Angel, Austin Hruby and Albert Suter.
Lebo’s top performer was Ethan Warner. He clocked a 17:52 for 53rd place.
Robert Tang, Jack Ellen, Liam Mooney and Simon Brockmeyer all ran the race in under 20 minutes. Colin Doran also compete for the Blue Devils, finishing just over the 20-minute threshold.
In Class AA, Chartiers Valley finished ninth in the girls’ standings.
Junior Lilah Turnbull led the way with a 17th-place finish in 20:21.
