Casey’s Clubhouse announces upcoming events
Casey’s Clubhouse, formerly known as Miracle League of the South Hills, is having a busy month.
Registration is open through July 31 for the Minor League Fall Season.
A football and cheer camp will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. July 21 at Upper St. Clair High School.
On July 25, the Casey’s Clubhouse Combine with the Washington Wild Things will be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon at EQT Park.
Additionally, the 16th annual Sean Casey Golf Classic will be held Sept. 21 at Valley Brook Country Club located at 425 Hidden Valley Rd.
In addition to golf, which begins at 10:30 a.m. with a shotgun story, there will be a light breakfast, lunch at the turn, appetizers and cocktails at the awards ceremony and a cash bar on the 19th hole. Check in is at 8:30 a.m. At 10 a.m. there will be a presentation and story time with Sean Casey.
Sponsorships are available and foursomes can still register.
“We have so many amazing and exciting things happening,” said Heather Dennis, who is the Director of Fundraising at Casey’s Clubhouse.
Founded by former MLB player Sean Casey of Upper St. Clair, Casey’s Clubhouse has grown into more than a place to play baseball. It has become a hub for inclusion, connection, and opportunity for individuals with disabilities and their families. Started with a single field 16 years ago, Casey’s Clubhouse has expanded with a wide range of programs.
According to Denis, Casey’s Clubhouse offers an off-season strength and conditioning program, a job training program that provides hands-on experience in the concession stand and announcer’s booth. That’s in addition to the travel baseball program that allows our athletes to compete and build confidence.
“As we continue to grow, we are also expanding our facility to better meet the needs of the community we serve,” she said.
One of the organization’s current initiatives is the creation of a Sensory Room at the field. The space will provide a calm, safe environment for athletes and guests who may feel overwhelmed during game day, allowing them to reset and fully enjoy their experience.
While the baseball facility is located at 1551 Mayview Road in Boyce-Mayview Park in Upper St. Clair, the Casey’s Clubhouse offices and mailing address are located at 1023 Paxton Dr. Bethel Park, Pa. 15102.
