Area churches offer special services for Christmas
• Christ U.M. Church will hold Christmas Eve worship at 3 p.m. for the children’s Christmas hour. Contemporary worship is set for 5, 7 and 9 p.m. in the Christian Life Center. Cathedral worship begins at 7 p.m. with children’s choirs, at 9 p.m. with the youth choir and at 11 p.m. with the adult choir.
• Bethel Presbyterian Church will hold a 7 p.m. service on Christmas Eve including the children’s choir, Praise Band and bell choir. At 11 p.m., a traditional candlelight service will feature music by the Chancel Choir, Praise Band and brass ensemble.
• First Bethel United Methodist Church, located on Library Road, will hold Christmas Eve services at 4, 7 and 10 p.m.
• St. Patrick Parish will celebrate the birth of Jesus at 4 and 9 p.m. and midnight on Christmas Eve and at 7:30 and 10 a.m. and noon on Christmas Day.
• Canonsburg U.P. Church will hold a Christmas Eve family service at 7 p.m. and a candlelight service at 11 p.m.
• Church of the Atonement will offer a Christmas Eve service at 8 p.m.
• St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church will hold candlelight services on Christmas Eve, first with a family service of Holy Communion and carols at 7:30 p.m. Children will participate in the pageant. A Festival of Lessons and Carols with Holy Communion and music by the adult choir begins at 10 p.m.; on Christmas Day, a Festival Service of Carols and Communion begins at 10 a.m.; no contemporary service is planned for Dec. 29; one service at 10 a.m. will be held on Dec. 30 with no Sunday school.
• Carnegie Presbyterian Church will hold Lessons & Carols candlelighting services on Christmas Eve. New Hope contemporary service with Praise Band begins at 7 p.m. and a tradition service with choir begins at 9 p.m. For details, call 412-279-3223.
Door Christian Fellowship Church will hold candlelight services at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Dec. 23.

• St. Stephen Lutheran Church will offer the Christmas Eve Eucharist at 7:30 p.m. and Christmas Day Eucharist at 10:30 a.m. For details, call 412-279-5868.
• South Hills Assembly will hold a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 7 p.m. A Christmas message will be offered from Pastor Jack Stepp.
• The Bible Chapel will hold Christmas Eve services at 3, 5 and 7 p.m. at the South Hills campus; 7 p.m. at the Robinson campus; and 7 p.m. at the Washington campus with refreshments served beforehand at 6. Services will also be broadcast online at 7 p.m. Childcare available for ages 2 and younger for all services except the 7 p.m. South Hills service. • Center Presbyterian Church will offer a traditional candlelight worship at 7:30 and 11 p.m. Dec. 24 with Holy Communion being served at the later service.
• Our Redeemer Lutheran Church will hold breakfast at the manger at 10 a.m. Dec. 23. There is no charge but registration is a must by contacting the church at 724-941-7467 or orlc@comcast.net.; Joyful Noise Christmas Eve for children on the autism spectrum begins at 2:30 p.m. For other children the Christmas Eve service begins at 4:30 p.m.
A family worship service begins at 7 p.m. and a candlelight worship begins at 11 p.m.
• Mt. Lebanon U.L. Church will hold Christmas liturgies on Christmas Eve, 5:30 p.m. with the children’s choir. At 7:30 p.m. the Chancel Choir will present “A Festival of Lessons and Carols” featuring “A Day for Dancing” by Lloyd Pfautsch. Members of the Pittsburgh Symphony will accompany. At 11 p.m., a Traditional Christmas liturgy will feature the Chancel Choir and lighting of the candles.
Worship with Eucharist is set for 10:30 a.m. Christmas Day.
Liturgies with Eucharist will be celebrated at 8, 9 and 10:30 a.m. on the Ephiphany, Jan. 6.
• Mt. Lebanon U.P. Church will hold a contact contemporary service at 9 a.m. on Dec. 23, followed with a heritage traditional service at 11:15 a.m. and seven prayer gathering at 7 p.m. ; On Christmas Eve a family candlelight service will begin at 5 p.m. A traditional candlelight services begins at 9 p.m.
Westminster Presbyterian Church will hold a Christmas Eve family worship at 5 p.m. Christmas Eve. A contemporary service is set for 7 p.m. followed with a service of lessons and carols at 9 and 11 p.m.

St. David’s Episcopal Church will offer a family service with pageant at 4 p.m. Christmas Eve and a traditional service with carol prelude at 7 p.m. No services will be offered on Christmas Day.
