Students to witness mock crash

At 9 a.m. April 18, students at Seton LaSalle High School will view the presentation “Survival 101” by police officers from Mt. Lebanon. “Survival 101” is a multi-media presentation geared toward the middle school and high school students that covers unsafe driving practices and crash dynamics as well as preventative safety measures.

At 10:30 a.m., the students will go outside to view a mock driving under the influence of alcohol crash that provides a realistic dramatization of the aftermath of an alcohol-involved driving incident.

The event is sponsored by the Students Against Destructive Decisions at Keystone Oaks and Seton LaSalle High schools.

Participating in the mock crash are police from Mt. Lebanon, Castle Shannon and Dormont, the Mt. Lebanon Fire Department, Medical Rescue Team South, LifeFlight and the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office.
