Coaches comments: According to his football coach Joe Rossi, “Michael is the smartest defensive player that I have ever been around. He understands the entire defense and responsibilities. He is able to make our checks on the field and gets players lined up. He gets what’s going on and that is important. On offense, he runs great routes. He always makes the tough catches. We are successful because of players like him. His intellect enables us to run what we run, a very complicated offense with a lot of checks and balances.”

According to his wrestling coach Rick Chaussard, what describes Mike’s compassion and kindness is his involvement in teen institute. Teen institute is an organization in which a select group of junior and senior mentor fellow middle school students, who are experiencing personal and academic difficulty. For months Mike meets with students weekly to talk about pressing issues in their life and how they can learn to how to handle them. Mike also demonstrates leadership by the way he treats all his teammates. He’s always supportive no matter what skill level they are. He supports and helps them whether it’s in the practice room, a game or a match situation. He is always there for them. That quality is hard to find in young men. In summation, Chaussard said, “Mike is one of the finest all-round young men I have had the privilege to coach.”
