Car crashes into house in South Fayette
It’s still not known what caused a driver to crash into a townhouse along Deer Watch Road in South Fayette Township’s Hunting Ridge neighborhood on Dec. 6.
According to the South Fayette Police Department, the matter is under investigation. The name of the driver who lost control of his car is not being released, although he was transported to Mercy Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.
“He went down the hill and into the house,” said Evonne Williams, South Fayette Township’s police secretary. According to the police report, which had not been finalized as of Dec. 9, the driver was in and out of consciousness. It’s not known if weather played a part in the wreck or if the driver will face any charges.
The house had to be condemned and boarded up and Josh Songer and his family, who lived in the home, are not allowed to go back until repairs can be made.
No one inside the house was hurt in the accident. The adjoining townhomes did not sustain any damage.
