Second arrest made in Mt. Lebanon shooting
Mt. Lebanon police made a second arrest late Dec. 19 involving an attempted homicide that occurred Dec. 12 in the hallway of an apartment building at 1425 McFarland Road, said Mt. Lebanon police Lt. Aaron Lauth.
An arrest warrant was issued Dec. 19 for Parris James Evans, 19, of 1963 Robinson Boulevard, Pittsburgh. Evans was taken into custody without incident at a house in the City of Pittsburgh. He was charged with criminal attempt homicide, carrying a firearm without a license, criminal conspiracy to commit robbery, aggravated assault, robbery, burglary and possessing an instrument of crime, Lauth said. Evans was taken to the Allegheny County Jail for arraignment.
This is the second arrest connected to the Dec. 12 robbery and shooting of Jason Collins.
Juanwane Tyree Dennison, 22, of 2025 Arlington Ave., Pittsburgh, was arrested Dec. 13. He is charged with criminal attempt homicide, criminal conspiracy to commit robbery, aggravated assault, robbery and burglary. He remains in the Allegheny County Jail.
Police continue to search for a third suspect whose street name is “Chubbs.” Lauth said the suspect is a light-skinned black man in his early 20s with a thin mustache who frequents the Wilkinsburg area.
The robbery and shooting occurred at 11:26 p.m. Dec. 12 in the McFarland Road apartment building. Lauth said police believe the incident began in the sixth-floor apartment and spilled to the hallway where the victim was shot in the stomach.
Anyone with information about the incident or the third suspect is asked to call 911 and request to speak with a Mt. Lebanon police officer.
