Father, daughter land in jail following incident in Peters
A father and daughter from Peters Township landed in Washington County Jail early Dec. 30 following a dispute in their 301 Doubletree Drive home the night of Dec. 29, township police said.
Officers were called shortly before 7 p.m. when an argument between Kimberly Erin Dwyer, 31, and her mother, Moira Dwyer, 60, turned physical. Police said Kimberly Dwyer came from behind her mother and struck her on the head, neck and face. Both fell to the floor, and Kimberly Dwyer then kicked her mother on her left hand, which was broken previously in an unrelated incident, police said.
Another daughter, whose name was not released and who was not charged, intervened between her sister and mother.
When police arrived, Anthony F. Dwyer, 62, the husband and father, entered the room, became involved in the confrontation between his wife and daughter, and became angry when officers attempted to arrest Kimberly Dwyer, police said. He allegedly came toward officers with clenched fists, attempted to stop the arrest and ignored repeated orders by officers to stop interfering. He was charged with simple assault, resisting arrest, obstructing the law by impeding arrest, and harassment.
Kimberly Dwyer was charged with simple assault and harassment.
Both were arraigned before District Judge Larry Hopkins at 12:10 a.m. Dec. 30 and were jailed on $25,000 bond each.
There was no indication in the police report that Moira Dwyer sought medical treatment.
