My resume is filled with recommended remedies to maintain good health. Yoga, reflexology, hypnotism, bones for life, foot detox, massage therapy and the labyrinth’s spiritual journey all have countless followers, and my interest piqued with them. Both men and women get great results, but just like everything, each of us look for that good fit for holistic care to fill our psychological, physical and social needs. We search for that perfect GPS to maintain a healthy body.

Just last week, I joined more than a dozen others at Bethel Park Public Library for a session on Integrated Energy Therapy. Reiki masters Ruth Lorena of South Park and Leonora Van Hulten of Bethel Park presented the next generation of hands-on power energy therapy systems to “get the issues out of your tissues.”

IET is a gentle, nurturing way to balance your life by helping to release negative or traumatic patterns stored in the body’s cells. Stress, unexpressed emotion, fear, anger and resentment can become stuck, blocking the flow of vital life forces at a cellular level. IET works to release the barriers on all levels – physical, emotional, mental and spiritual – working to become a great energy healer with the power of touch, at an even higher level than Reiki.

Complementary to other healing arts, IET can be used alone or in combination with other holistic or traditional approaches, working to accelerate your self-healing journey and is not a replacement for traditional medical approaches.

For more than 25 years, registered nurse Leonora Van Hulten attended to folks in critical care areas, including cardiothoracic and trauma, with a passion in heart medicine. Her quest for balance of mind, body and spirit led her to study multiple modalities of healing. Leonora is a Reiki Master as well as a practitioner of Magnified Healing and is an Integrated Energy Therapy master instructor. She can be reached at lvanhulten@verizon.net.

After moving to the U.S. 18 years ago, Ruth Lorena graduated from California University of Pennsylvania. Not content with her career in computer information systems, Ruth’s interest in energy healing led her to Reiki, the ancient Japanese form of touch healing, later becoming a Reiki Master. She also studied magnified healing and crystal healing prior to IET, becoming a master instructor. Ruth teaches IET techniques in Greensburg and Morgantown and currently can be reached at Jennings Chiropractic in Bethel Park.

Intro to Integrated Energy Therapy for Pets will be presented by Ruth and Leonora at 7 p.m. June 6. Bring a photo of your pet.

Intro to IET for kids ages 7-11 will be held 3-5 p.m. June 18.
