The Bethel Park Recreation’s Farmers’ Market is now open every Tuesday through Oct. 1 in the Community Center parking lot, 5151 Park Ave. The market is open from 3-7 p.m. weekly.
The Canon-McMillan Drama Department will perform a series of eight student-directed one-act plays beginning at 7 p.m. May 23 in the high school auditorium.
Donations will be collected at the door to benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
• Town Park Pool will open from noon-6 p.m. May 25, 26 and 27.
• Borough offices will be closed May 27 for Memorial Day.
Community Day will be held beginning at 2 p.m. May 26, concluding with fireworks at 9:30 p.m. There will be food, free concerts and family fun with children’s activities. The Pittsburgh Music Fest begins at 4 p.m., all in Hamilton Park. Park at the Castle Shannon Volunteer Fire Department lot on Route 88 and ride the free shuttle.
Helping Hands for Cecil Parks is holding a clean-up from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. May 18 and 19, rain or shine. Cecil Park and three parklettes, Hendersonville, Lawrence and Southview will be cleaned as volunteers are available. Work planned is painting, planting, cleaning and clearing. The South Hills Memorial Day parade will begin in Brookline at 10 a.m. and end at the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.
Mt. Lebanon will honor its veterans at 6 p.m. May 27 at the Veterans’ Memorial at the entrance to Mt. Lebanon Park. Former Pittsburgh Steeler Rocky Bleier will speak and Mt. Lebanon High School’s Triple Trio will perform. Boy Scouts from Troop 28 and Mt. Lebanon firefighters and veterans will place memorial wreaths on the memorial. There will be the playing of Taps, a flag raising and a 21-gun salute.

Compost is available to township residents only in Peterswood Park in the baseball field parking lot.
The Fourth Annual POWER of Southpointe’s Tapas & Tapping In will begin with check-in at 6 p.m. followed by the event May 23 at the Southpointe Hilton Garden Inn. Moonstruck: Full Moon Hike will be held from 9-10 p.m. May 25 at the Outdoor Classroom in Boyce Mayview Park. The family-friendly event is $4 per person. Explore the sights and sounds of the forest at night and listen for owls, insects and other nocturnal noise-makers. Tanger Outlets is hosting its semi-annual Job Fair with participating stores from noon-7 p.m. May 23. Several stores will be recruiting for a variety of different positions that include management and sales associates that can be full/part time or seasonal. This opportunity provides job seekers with the ability to talk with recruiting managers, complete applications, or even be selected for ‘on the spot’ interviews. Participating stores will have tables located outside of their stores during the event time period.
