PennDOT announces I-79 traffic stoppage in South Fayette

1 min read

Traffic in both directions on Interstate 79 in South Fayette Township will be stopped the morning Nov. 24, weather permitting, PennDOT said in a news release today.

A traffic stoppage of 15 minutes or less will occur between 9-9:30 a.m. Sunday in the area between the Bridgeville (Exit 54) interchange and the I-79 rest area (milepost 50). Crews under contract with Fiber and Cable Specialists, Inc. will be performing cable work across I-79.

PennDOT is not involved in the work and said that the information is being provided as a public service only.

Motorists should use caution, slow down, and expect to stop when traveling on I-79 through the area. Visit 511pa.com or call 511 from any phone to check traffic conditions and cameras on most major roadways before traveling.
