Carol Duckworth, who owned neighborhood staple the McMurray Dairy Bar along with her husband, Gary, passed away on Jan. 31 of this year. Ten days later, on Feb. 10, the new owners, the Heisler family, took over. The change prompted many questions in the community, and it was revealed that the sale had been in the works for almost a year and had nothing to do with Duckworth’s passing. Now dubbed Heisler’s Market, the store has been remodeled and rebranded while maintaining its place in the community. There is an increased emphasis on gluten-free and organic items, as well as on catering and quick pickup items.
