Emergency personnel were called to the new Mt. Lebanon swimming pool at 4:07 p.m. July 7 when a 10-year-old boy struck his head on a diving board while attempting a back flip, Mt. Lebanon Deputy Chief Aaron Lauth said.

The boy, whose name was not released, was conscious and alert. He was treated by lifeguards until ambulance personnel arrived, Lauth said.

No additional medical treatment was necessary and the boy was released to his parents, police said.
