Construction to begin June 16 on Bower Hill Road
Traffic restrictions and the pending closure of Bower Hill Road, in Bridgeville Borough, Scott Township and Upper St. Clair Township will begin June 16, according to The Allegheny County Department of Public Works.
Beginning 7 a.m. June 16, there will be single-lane alternating traffic on Bower Hill Road between Painters Run Road and McLaughlin Run Road. The restriction will continue through Oct. 1, Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers at each work site along Bower Hill Road. Total road closure for bridge reconstruction, with detour, is expected in early July. The restrictions are necessary in order for crews to perform two bridge repairs, shoulder reconstruction, drainage, milling and repaving of Bower Hill Road. Motorists are reminded to be aware of changing traffic patterns throughout the construction of the project.
The $1.8 million project will be completed by Lane Construction Corporation, whose offices are located in Bridgeville.
