2014 PIAA Class AA state champions: Seton-La Salle girls’ basketball team by virtue of a 58-50 victory against Neumann-Goretti. It was the Lady Rebels’ third title in school history and second in the last two seasons.

Yacine Diop, Naje Gibson, Cassidy Walsh and Nicolete Newman accept the spoils of victory, a giant Hershey bar along with the PIAA Class AA championship trophy. Diop and Gibson, both seniors, and Walsh, a junior, are all Pitt recruits. Diop scored 10 points, grabbed 24 rebounds and blocked six shots in the win. Walsh and Newman fired in 17 and 11 markers respectively and Gibson finished with five points and four rebounds.

After stealing the ball, Shaunay Edmonds drives past Ciani Cryer. Edmonds second-half defense propelled the Lady Rebels to their largest lead, 37-23, but Neumann-Goretti used a 22-7 run to edge ehad, 45-44, with 5:27 to play. Edmonds finished with nine points.

Cassidy Walsh is boxed out on a rebound but that did not stop the junior guard. She scored 11 points and cleaned the glass for 11 boards in Seton-La Salle’s win over Neumann-Goretti, 58-50. Walsh connected on four free throws down the stretch to help seal the victory.
