Traffic signals on Rt. 19 back on after previous outage

1 min read

Traffic lights that were affected by a power outage at about 3 p.m. Oct. 14 in Peters Township and Upper St. Clair Township were all working an hour later.

The affected lights were mainly from Gallery Drive north to the Allegheny County line on Washington Road in Peters Township. A traffic signal on Valley Brook Road at the intersection of Old Washington Road was also out.

Personnel from the police, fire and public works departments used generators to operate the signals until the power was restored.

The traffic signal at Boyce and Washington roads in Upper St. Clair was out, but was operating again shortly after 4 p.m.

A FirstEnergy spokesman said outages were wind-related.
