Police patrol near Mt. Lebanon High School after fight, threat
A fight between three Mt. Lebanon High School students included a threat to use weapons against the victim.
“The two 16-year-old students who were the aggressors against the 18-year-old victim will both face simple assault and disorderly conduct charges in juvenile court. And one of the 16-year-old males will face a terroristic threat charge as well,” Mt. Lebanon Deputy Police Chief Aaron Lauth said.
“As a precaution, we’ve asked for an increased police presence, and they’ve agreed to patrol closer to school grounds in case we need to call for assistance,” district spokeswoman Cissy Bowman said.
The Oct. 16 incident prompted principal Brian McFeeley to send a letter home to parents that read in part, “during an investigation of a fight between students, one of the students, while in the principal’s office, verbally threatened the use of a weapon against the other student … the student was not in possession of a weapon. As a result, the student was suspended from school. There was no threat against the school. This was a specific incident between (students).”
“He apparently said he was going to ‘go get a gun and take care of things,’ and we determined he does not have access to a weapon at this time,” Lauth said.
