Bethel Park woman pleads guilty to fraud

By David Singer 1 min read

Mary Schneir, who had previously admitted to stealing $19,000 from the Bethel Park Junior Cheerleaders, pleaded guilty Sept. 10 to wire fraud in connection with the theft of nearly $270,000 from Cybergenetics Corporation.

Schneir, 42, was the former office manager for the Karna C. Goldsmith CPA Firm on Washington Road in Upper St. Clair, and admitted that she concealed she was stealing large sums of money from clients by moving the cash into various accounts in February 2013. She took at least $54,000 in stolen cash to pay for bills and a mortgage.

Schneir was sentenced to a 30 day jail term and paid restitution on the cheerleading case. According to federal court documents, she’ll be sentenced Feb. 19 for the current case. She remains free on $50,000 bond.
