Tri-Community Revitalization Project parade date set
A parade for the Tri-Community Revitalization Project featuring guest speaker Congressman Tim Murphy (R-Upper St. Clair), is scheduled for 1 p.m. May 2, beginning at the Heidelberg Fire Department, continuing along Carothers Avenue and finishing at the Carnegie Municipal Building.
The Tri-Community Revitalization Project, an approximately $2.4 million multi-municipal streetscape project between the boroughs of Carnegie, Heidelberg and Scott Township, was sponsored by Murphy, with construction by A. Liberoni, Inc., design by Trans Associates and Glance Associates, inspection services by CDM Smith, and funding by the US Department of Transportation, PENNDOT, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Allegheny County and the three communities.
Work improving East Railroad Street (PA Route 50 – Heidelberg), Carothers Avenue (Scott Township) and Third Street (Carnegie) included construction of new sidewalks, pedestrian safety and traffic calming enhancements such as bump-outs, improved cross-walks, street trees, garden beds to mitigate storm water, improved signage, street furniture and amenities and decorative street lighting.
