ML Community Relations Board to honor outstanding volunteer
The Mt. Lebanon Community Relations Board, an all-volunteer advisory board to the municipal Commission, is launching a new program that will honor dedicated community volunteers.
The Community Service Award, which the board hopes to present annually, will go to a man or woman who, through volunteer activities, has made a significant contribution to the quality of life in Mt. Lebanon. The individual’s work may have taken place during a single year for a single organization or may be the result of many years of work for various organizations. Work that has made a positive impact on the region as well as on Mt. Lebanon will be considered.
The award program is similar to but not the same as the popular This Town Would Be Different Without… awards, which thrived from 1992 to 2009.
The winner of the award will be honored this year on April 4, at the boards and authorities dinner. Criteria and a downloadable application form are available at www.mtlebanon.org. Nominations are due by March 11.
