Beth-Center superintendent charged with DUI
The superintendent of Bethlehem-Center School District is scheduled to appear next month for a preliminary hearing on driving under the influence of alcohol and other charges filed last month by police in Allegheny County.
Linda Marcolini, 55, of McDonald, who has been Beth-Center’s superintendent since December 2013, also faces charges of reckless driving and driving on the wrong side of the road filed by police in South Fayette Township, court records show.
The South Fayette police chief was not available Monday to provide additional details.
Marcolini notified Beth-Center School Board about the hearing Monday, but she didn’t specify to the board what charges she was facing, Director Karen Drill said.
Drill said she understood the charges against Marcolini stemmed from a vehicle accident Dec. 12.
Marcolini, the former superintendent of Monessen School District, was hired at Beth-Center at a base salary of $100,000, and she is due to earn $123,866 in the district’s fiscal year ending in June 2017.
Marcolini could not be reached Monday to discuss her charges. Online court records indicate she has yet to provide the court with the name of her attorney. Beth-Center board President Chad Novotney also could not be reached.
Marcolini is scheduled to appear on the charges at 1 p.m. Feb. 9 before District Judge Maureen McGraw-Desmet in Bridgeville.
