Preschool registration

• Registration is open for the 2015-2016 school year at Tender Shepherd Preschool at The Bible Chapel, McMurray. Morning and afternoon sessions available for children ages 3-5 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Visit biblechapel.org for more information.

• Noah’s Ark Preschool in McMurray, an NAEYC Accredited Program, has begun fall 2015 registration for current families; the community can register beginning Feb. 2. • St. Paul’s Episcopal Nursery School in Mt. Lebanon, an NAEYC Accredited preschool, will begin accepting new student registration for the 2015-2016 school year on Feb. 2. • Registration for the 2015-2016 school year at Bethany Presbyterian Church Preschool, Bridgeville, begins 9:30-11:30 a.m. Feb. 4 for children ages 3-5. Children must be 3 years old by Sept. 1, 2015, and toilet trained. A $50 nonrefundable fee must accompany the application. After Feb. 4, registration forms can be obtained at the church office. Kindergarten enrichment

CLUBS

Art guild changes name

The Bethel Art Guild has changed its name to the Bethel Park Art League. Meetings are held at the Bethel Park Community Center on the first Thursday of the month and include a light lunch followed by a 12:30 p.m. business meeting and guest speaker. At the Feb. 5 meeting, award-winning artist Peggi Habets will talk about her work, which is primarily in watercolor. Members of the Bethel Park Art League display their work at Bethel Park Community Center and the Bethel Park Library. Members must be at least 18 years of age with an interest in art, beginner, intermediate or advanced.

Coin Club

The South Hills Coin Club will hold its 55th Anniversary Coin Show Feb. 7-8 at the Crowne Plaza Pittsburgh South hotel. Hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday. Free admission and hourly door prizes.

Fundraisers

WAHS fundraisers

Washington Area Humane Society is offering Valentine cards. A donation of $5 will provide a treat for a dog or cat at the shelter and a Valentine to a special person. WAHS will send that person a Valentine card featuring shelter dogs and cats and include a greeting from you. To fill out a form and submit payment online, visit washingtonpashelter.org by Feb. 6 (one form per card ordered). All cards will be delivered by Valentine’s Day.

• A fundraiser is planned at Planet Bounce, Canonsburg, 4-8 p.m. Feb. 7. It will include raffles, vendors, face painting and more. Kids’ admission is $10 and all proceeds benefit WAHS.

Race for the Cure

Online registration for the 23rd annual Susan G. Komen Pittsburgh Race for the Cure is open at www.komenpittsburgh.org. The Race will be held May 10, 2015, at Schenley Park.

Dinner for a Dollar

Community of Christ Church, Bethel Park, will offer Dinner for a Dollar from 5-7 p.m. Feb. 12, featuring spaghetti, bread and rolls, garden salad and desserts. Cost is $1/person or $3/family. Card party

Acting class

Little Lake Theatre Company will hold its final edition of “I Can Do That!,” acting class. Held 7-9 p.m. Tuesdays, Feb. 10-May 19, the course will include 14 classes for those 18 and older. Class work is geared towards the individual’s experience and comfort level and, therefore, is appropriate for beginners to experienced actors who want to sharpen their skills. The class will culminate in a showcase performance at Little Lake Theatre for family and friends. The class is limited to 20 students. Suicide Bereavement

Register by Feb. 6 for Monongahela Valley Hospital’s Suicide Bereavement Support Group, which will begin Feb. 9 and will meet the second and fourth Mondays through May at 6 p.m. in the hospital’s Anthony M. Lombardi Education Conference Center. The free, informal group meetings will be led by staff psychologist Sam Lonich, who has extensive professional experience working with suicide survivors. Alzheimer’s and Dementia
