Teenager killed in Monongahela crash

An 18-year-old was killed early Tuesday when his car crashed into a building in the 700 block of East Main Street in Monongahela.
Robert Kovalcik was pronounced dead at Monongahela Valley Hospital after being freed from the wreckage of his car by Monongahela firefighters and Tri-Community Ambulance personnel. Kovalcik crashed into a wall at Wall Firma, 733 E. Main St.
Monongahela police Chief Brian Tempest said Kovalcik’s license indicated he was from Bethel Park, but police learned he may have been staying at a home in the 800 block of East Main.
Tempest said the road was damp at the time of the 1:36 a.m. crash.
