Program delivers holiday spirit to seniors

1 min read

Sponsored by the Home Instead Senior Care office serving Southwest Allegheny and Washington Counties, the Be a Santa to a Senior program provides gifts and companionship for lonely and isolated seniors.

Participating retail locations will display Be a Santa to a Senior Christmas trees through Dec. 14 that feature ornaments with seniors’ first names and their gift requests. Holiday shoppers can pick ornaments from the trees, buy the items listed and return them unwrapped (and with the ornament attached) to the location before Dec. 14.

Volunteers will take care of wrapping and distributing the gifts to local seniors who might otherwise spend the holiday alone.

Be A Santa To a Senior trees can be found at the following locations: Washington Crown Center Mall, Washington; Classics by Rene, Old Clairton Road, Pleasant Hills; Curves Bethel Park, South Park Road.
