Pittsburgh man arrested in child luring attempt
Bethel Park Police have arrested a man who lives in the West End of Pittsburgh for attempting to lure a child into his vehicle at South Hills Village Mall on May 10.
According to police reports, the parents of the juvenile female said their daughter was sitting outside Macy’s at South Hills Village when a vehicle went past her several times. Police said the driver kept looking at the girl and made her feel uncomfortable.
The girl then walked away from the mall, and the vehicle followed her along Fort Couch Road and toward another store. The driver then pulled up to the juvenile and asked her to get into the vehicle and “have some fun.”
Police identified the driver as Bobby Dean Willard, 29. Willard was taken into custody and charged by police with felony-level stalking, criminal attempt, attempted luring of a child into a motor vehicle, corruption of minors and other misdemeanor offenses. He was transported to Allegheny County Jail on $250,000 bond.
Bethel Park police Chief Timothy O’Connor said the incident remains under investigation. He declined to comment further.
