A Beginner’s Guide to
Protecting You and
Your Family
Location: Upper St. Clair Public Library
What it is: This presentation will seek to educate the attendees on the primary issues facing individuals as they get older. It will begin with a basic discussion of the importance of proper documents in the estate planning area (wills, trusts, durable medical and financial powers of attorney and living wills). Then, it will move on to the more complex topic of long term care planning and how to pay for it. It will include a discussion about long term care options, asset protection planning; Medicaid & Veteran’s benefits eligibility and how to qualify for these benefits. Lastly, it will touch upon the new PA ABLE Act that went into effect in the beginning of April.
