Choir raises money for hurricane victims

1 min read

The South Hills Children’s Choir is introducing a practice project during the autumn months that will raise money for victims of Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria while encouraging musical excellence in the choristers at the same time.

Each singer in the choir received a piggy bank, donated by Clearview Federal Credit Union, and will put spare change in the bank every time he or she practices. Choristers can also ask family members and friends to donate money for the bank.

The money raised by the Choir will go to Team Rubicon, a nonprofit organization connecting military veterans with first responders to serve in the wake of natural disasters. The South Hills Children’s Choir aims to support both this quality nonprofit and the crucial work it is doing for the millions of persons affected by this year’s hurricane season.
