JVS Environmental will offer an electronic equipment disposal service to the residents and businesses of Mt. Lebanon. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 21, at the public works yard, 1250 Lindendale Drive (off Cedar Boulevard). Most electronic devices will be recycled free of charge.

The Mt. Lebanon Environmental Team will celebrate Earth Day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 22, in Mt. Lebanon Park, 900 Cedar Blvd. There will be crafts, educational activities, food and entertainment. Tent activities include Himalayan Institute Yoga from 11 to 11:30 a.m., Sahaja Meditation from 11:30 to noon, a composting workshop from noon to 1 p.m. (register at http://prc.org/programs/conservation-workshops/backyard), high school musical ensembles from 1 to 2:30, and performances by Community Music School of Pittsburgh students from 2:30 to 3. Attendees should bring refillable bottles for spring water, glass bottles of water from home for testing, white t-shirts for tie-dying and used book donations for Mt. Friends of Family Hospice & Palliative Care is seeking donations for its fifth annual Family Treasures Sale to be held in October. The desired good quality, gently-used or new donations include: jewelry, collectibles, purses and wallets, china and glassware, picture frames, mirrors, lamps, books, CDs and DVDs (no VHS), holiday decor, artwork, kitchen items, craft items, linens, and furniture (no large bookcases or large entertainment centers). Items may be dropped off at the Family Hospice front desk, 50 Moffett St., Mt. Lebanon, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays, beginning May 1. Auditions for Keynotes $10,000 Music Scholarship Competition will be held May 19, at Mt. Lebanon Fine Arts Theater. Contestants must be full-time music majors in a music school, college or university. Instrumentalists must be under 26 years of age, voice under 30. Jump Cut Theater, formerly Friends of the Hollywood Theater, will host screenings and events throughout the Pittsburgh region, with a particular focus on neighborhoods that lack their own theater.
