Bridgeville scout achieves Eagle rank
Dakshith Ragupathi of Boy Scouts Troop 2 was recognized for attaining the rank of Eagle Scout during a ceremony held at Bethany Presbyterian Church in Bridgeville on July 28. Dakshith’s Eagle Project benefited the American Legion Post 54 of Bridgeville. He repaired the entrance and porch area by stripping, sanding and repainting the porch and overhang. In addition, he redid the stone trim around the building and swept and cleaned the entire area. Dakshith received letters of congratulations from national, state and local dignitaries. Eugene Eckman, leading knight from Lodge 2213 in Bethel Park, presented the new Eagle Scout with two framed awards, one from the local lodge and one from the B.P.O.E. Grand Lodge in Chicago. He also presented Dakshith with a small silk U.S. flag and gold lapel pin, which represents the 80-plus year relationship between the two organizations.
