Pickleball clinic
The South Fayette Township Parks & Recreation department will conduct a Pickleball Clinic this fall. Registration is required. Visit www.SouthFayettePA.com/recreation or call 412-221-8700 x217 to sign-up.
The clinic runs Saturdays beginning Sept. 15 and continuing through Oct. 6 at Morgan Park, located at 515 Millers Run Road, South Fayette.
The beginner class runs from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. the intermediate/advanced class runs from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Fee is $80 per person. Ages 16 and older are eligible.
A one-day introduction class will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8. Fee is $15 per person.
Lebo play date
Play dates on ice are held Tuesday mornings from 9 to 11 a.m. beginning Sept. 11 at the Mt. Lebanon Ice Center. Preschool through kindergarten-aged children can participate with a paid skating adult.
Bowlers wanted
Women bowlers are needed for a league that will compete Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m. beginning Aug. 29 at the Mt. Lebanon Lanes, located on Route 19 near Connor Road. Fee is $12 per week. There are also 50/50 raffles to offset costs for a year-end banquet. All skill levels and all ages can join. Call 412-831-6361 or 724-746-4944 for more details.
Hockey sign-ups
Registration for the Mt. Lebanon Hockey School and Fall Development League is being accepted online at www.mtlebanon.org or by calling 412-561-4363. Fee is $112 for the seven-week program, which begin Sept. 13.
Ages 4-12 are eligible for the hockey school which offers new and innovated concepts based on the philosophy that hockey should be fun. All ability levels can participate and learn the skills of the game in a progressive, non-pressure atmosphere. Classes are small and taught by P.S.A. Skating Professionals and certified USA Hockey Instructors. Weekly scrimmages are featured.
The developmental program is a noncompetitive and “no-check” league. Equal ice time is guaranteed. To insure balanced teams, registration is accepted on an individual basis, with each player rating himself/herself. Full equipment is required.
Lebo recreation
Mt. Lebanon offers several sports programs this fall. Visit mtlebanon.org to register or visit the recreation department, located on Cedar Boulevard.
Karate begins Sept. 6. Ages 18 and older are eligible to participate.
Adult tennis clinics begin Oct. 7. Another session starts Nov. 17. Platform tennis is also available. Visit platformtenis@mtlebanon.org for more details.
The golf course is open from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Call the course at 412-561-9761 for tee times, gift cards and other information.
SF volleyball
Registration for the 2018 United States Youth Volleyball League spring program in South Fayette is open. The instructional volleyball league will provide boys and girls, ages 7-15, the opportunity to learn and play the game in a fun, safe, and supervised environment. The eight-week developmental league begins Sept. 10 in the elementary school gym. Practices start at 6:30 p.m. Mondays and games are played beginning at 9 a.m. Saturdays.
