Anthony’s Run for Recovery on tap
Anthony’s Run for Recovery will be held July 29 at the South Park Fairgrounds.
The 5K run/walk starts at 9 a.m. and a Kids Fun Run begins at 10. Fee is $25.

Lifeguarding program starts Aug. 6
A Junior Lifeguarding American Red Cross program begins Aug. 6 at the Baierl Family YMCA.
The course is designed to introduce participants, ages 11-14, with to the aquatic environment, teach safety skills to help save lives, and provide leadership responsibilities that last a lifetime.
Participants must be able to swim the front crawl continuously while breathing to the front or side, swim the breaststroke for 25 yards using a pull, breathe, kick and glide sequence, complete the Water Competency Sequence.

Y Triathlon
set for Aug. 5
Janney & The Y Triathlon will be held at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 5 at the North Park swimming pool area.
The race includes 700 meters of swimming, (14 laps in the pool), bike 12 miles (5 loops around the pool and ball fields on blacktop), run 3.1 miles on a mostly shady trail. Participants can compete individually or as a team. Awards are monetary, ranging from $200 to $600. Proceeds benefit YMCA programs.
