Meet the new Peters Township officers

Three new Peters Township police officers were introduced to township council members during their Nov. 26 meeting.
Rachel Harper, Spencer Scott and Conor Wohlfarth all most recently served in the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police.
Harper, a Carroll Township native and 2008 Ringgold High School graduate, earned her bachelor’s degree from Slippery Rock University before attending the municipal police academy at Westmoreland Community College.
After graduating, she joined Forward Township police, and then served with the Westmoreland County Park Police. She attended Pittsburgh’s police training academy and became on officer in the city in 2016.
“In her most recent assignment, she selected to work with the City of Pittsburgh Housing Authority on a collaborative, community-oriented policing initiative with a focus on drug and violent crime intervention,” Peters police Chief Douglas Grimes told council.
Scott, who graduated from Upper St. Clair Township in 2009 and earned his bachelor’s degree from Ohio University, served in Pittsburgh’s Zone 2, which stretches from Downtown to Lawrenceville and includes the Hill District.
“Spencer was the first officer in the city of Pittsburgh to use Narcan on a victim suffering from an overdose,” Grimes said, “and as a result, Spencer was awarded the Public Safety Distinguished Service Award.”
Wohlfarth, a 2010 Mt. Lebanon High School graduate, earned his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from California University of Pennsylvania, where he was a member of the men’s soccer team.
While serving in Pittsburgh’s zones 6 and 2 – the former includes Brookline, Beechview and Banksville – he was a member of the department’s Rapid Emergency Deployment team, a highly trained specialized unit that can provide a quick appropriate response to critical incidents.
