Volleyball POWs
Celine Bion of Peters Township earned Western Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association Player of The Week recognition. The senior is an outside hitter for the Indians. Ashlynn Gulagowski earned the distinction for the Class AAA level. The senior setter has Chartiers Valley ranked fifth in the standings.
PT field hockey
Peters Township defeated Norwin, 1-0, in field hockey action. Maura Farinelli scored the decisive goal for the Indians. Previously the Lady Indians blanked Hempfield, 4-0. Greta Schratz scored twice while Nica Schratz and Farinelli registered the other tallies.
Lebo hockey
Registration for Mt. Lebanon’s Developmental League and hockey school are being accepted. Visit www.mtlebanon.org or call 412-561-4363.
Classes for the hockey school begin Oct. 30 or Nov. 1. Ages 4-12 are eligible. All ability levels can participate and learn the skills of the game in a progressive, non-pressure atmosphere.
Games in the developmental league start Nov. 2. There are two age divisions: 5-8 and 9-12. This is a no-check, non-competitive league. Equal ice time is guaranteed. Sign-ups are on an individual basis with each player rating himself/herself. Full HECC certified equipment is required. Fee is $112 for each of the seven-week programs.
Fun walk
The Myasthenia Gravis Association of Western PA (MGA) will hold its’ 10th annual Pooch Parade at 10 a.m. Oct. 21 at South Park. This one mile fun walk on a paved trail begins at the dog park. Sign-in starts at 9:00 a.m.
