Ashley Iagnemma winds up and hurls a pitch to the plate. The Bridgeville native and South Fayette High School graduate pitched a no-hitter as Point Park University blanked Carlow, 4-0, in recent Rivers State Conference action. The victory helped the Pioneers clinch a playoff berth.

Bridgeville native Ashley Iagnemma tossed a no-hitter to lead Point Park University to a 4-0 victory against Carlow University April 18 at Fairhaven Park.

The South Fayette High School product struck out 11 and walked two in seven innings.

The win helped the Pioneers (18-15, 11-5) clinch a spot in the River States Conference playoffs.

Heading into their final two regular season contests against PSU-New Kensington and WVU Tech, Iagnemma had an 8-8 record. In 108 innings, she had 98 strikeouts and a 2.59 ERA.

The senior, who has been recognized in the past as an all-conference first-team performer as well as a Player of the Week, was a two-time Almanac Diamond Dozen honoree. A four-year starter, she struck out 562 batters in her scholastic career. She also maintained a career batting average of .400.

She is the daughter of Vic and Stacey Iagnemma.
