Record breaker

Mason Beauregard shattered the Seton LaSalle High School record in the 100 Backstroke, shaving 1.1 seconds off the previous school record of 1:01.59. The sophomore’s performance qualified him for the WPIAL Championships to be held in late February at the University of Pittsburgh. He has also achieved the qualifying standards for 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle and IM.

BP hockey

The Bethel Park Ice Hockey Boosters will host a Bar Bingo on Feb. 23 at the community center. Doors open at 6 p.m. Bingo follows at 7. There will be 10 regular games with a $50 cash prize, two specials with a $100 prize of $100 and one cover-all with $250 earnings. Food, beer and mixers are included in this BYOB event, which will feature basket raffles and a 50/50. Call 412-997-8230 with questions or for a basket donation pick-up.

CV wrestling

A Night At The Races to benefit Chartiers Valley wrestling will be held Feb. 16 at the Heidelberg Volunteer Fire Department in Carnegie. Dinner buffet begins at 6 p.m. and racing follows at 7.

Tickets are $25 and includes dinner and beer. Horses are for sale for $10 and $5 (50-50) tickets. Winners did not need to be present. CV wrestling is also collecting donations for Chinese auction and door prizes.

Senior softball

Registration for the 2019 South Hills Senior Softball League is being accepted. Visit seniorsoftballleague.com for sign-up forms.

Ages 55 and older are eligible. Practices and games begin in April and run through early September at fields in South Park or others in the South Hills.

Players are chosen in a draft, ensuring that talent is spread evenly among the teams. Catered picnic is held at the end of the season.

Golfers wanted

The Women’s Golf Association of Mt. Lebanon is seeking new members. All skill levels, residents and non-residents, are eligible. The group golfs Tuesdays from April through September. Call 412-480-3319 for more details.

Lebo men’s golf

The Mt. Lebanon Senior Men’s Golf Club is accepting applications for new members. Visit: mensgolfmtlebo.site123.me for sign-up forms. Ages 55 or older are eligible. The group golfs Wednesday mornings at the Mt. Lebanon Golf Course. The season runs April 10 through Oct. 10 and features six away events.
