Health and wellness
Spencer Family YMCA, Bethel Park, offers Active at Any Age Senior Health and Wellness from 1 to 2 p.m. Fridays. Chair aerobics
Westminster Recreation & Outreach Center (WROC) at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Upper St. Clair, offers Chair Aerobics to Broadway Tunes (55+ Friendly), a low-impact chair exercise class, from 10 to 10:50 a.m. Wednesdays, through April 24. The class includes gentle, joint-friendly exercises with light weights, balls and bands, plus trivia questions to exercise the brain. Cost is $35. Hilltoppers meet
The Hilltoppers of Scott Township will hold its monthly meeting on March 13, at Covenant-Community Presbyterian Church, 1630 Greentree Road, Scott. Doors open at 11 a.m. for fellowship. Bring a brown bag lunch and a beverage to eat at noon. After lunch and a brief business meeting there will be bingo with prizes. New members are needed.
Lunch/movie
Mt. Lebanon Recreation will hold a luncheon and movie matinee on March 19, for seniors and their adult guests (Mt. Lebanon residency is not required). Check-in is at 10:30 a.m. in the Rec office. A presentation, “Stroke Prevention and Warning Signs,” will be offered at 11. There will be a lunch buffet at noon followed by a 50/50 raffle and movie on the big screen at 1 p.m. Wear green for St. Patrick’s Day. Cost is $7 per person, due by noon on March 15. Retired men meet
The Retired Men’s Luncheon Group will meet at noon on March 21 at Pleasant Hills Presbyterian Church, 199 Old Clairton Road. Jack Puglisie will give a talk on Abraham Lincoln. Cost for lunch is $8, payable at the door. To reserve lunch, call the church office at 412-655-2000, option 0.
Education/open house
Concordia of the South Hills will hold an Education Session and Open House from 1 to 3 p.m. March 24 and 25, at its campus located at 1300 Bower Hill Road in Mt. Lebanon, near St. Clair Hospital. The presentation “Smart Questions to Ask When Considering Retirement Living” will be presented at 1 on both days followed by tours of model apartments. Driver improvement
Seniors for Safe Driving, a mature driver improvement course, will hold a one-day class at Baptist Homes, 489 Castle Shannon Blvd., Mt. Lebanon. The class will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 6. This is a PennDOT approved, classroom instruction designed for seniors age 55 and up. Participants are eligible to receive a minimum 5 percent discount on their auto insurance premium for 3 years. Jewish events
Chabad of the South Hills, Mt. Lebanon, will hold a Pre Purim Seniors Luncheon at noon on March 19. In addition to lunch there will be Hamentashen and a musical Purim program.
- Pre Passover Seniors Program, noon on April 9, featuring a model Seder.
- Seniors lunch, noon on May 14. Comfort Keepers will discuss medications, hydration and sun protection.

Dormont AARP
Dormont AARP #3016 meets at noon the second Thursday of each month, year round, at Unity Presbyterian Church, 1146 Greentree Road. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Light refreshments are provided. Activities include entertainment, speakers, pancake brunch, covered dish dinner, annual picnic and Christmas party, fundraisers and travel opportunities. Chair dance class
