Evans hired

Justin Evans has been added to Riverhounds Development Academy’s coaching staff for the 2019-20 campaign. A founding member of the RDA in 2007, he will coach the 2005 boys.

“We are delighted to welcome Justin back to the club,” Academy Director Scott Gibson said. “Justin was part of the group that helped launch the Riverhounds Academy and is back where he belongs. In addition to leading the U-15 (2005) RDA Boys, he will be integral in areas of growth and new program initiatives. This is an excellent hire for the Academy, and we can’t wait to have him back on the staff.”

Evans has a decorated tenure with the Riverhounds Soccer Club. In 1999, the organization selected him as its first player in an expansion draft. The midfielder appeared in 101 games and scored 50 career points with the club.

After his playing career, the Peters Township High School graduate moved into the professional coaching ranks. From 2010-14, he coached the Hounds. His 112 all-competition matches at the helm rank as the most in club history.

“The timing is right, and I am super excited to be back,” Evans said. “I am really looking forward to working with everyone involved in the organization, the coaching staff and the young players to help continue to grow the highly successful Riverhounds Academy.”
