Lebo beats C-M
Mt. Lebanon (6-0-0, 6-1-1) upended Canon-McMillan, 3-1, in boys soccer action.
The loss was the first for the Big Macs (3-1-1, 6-2-1) in Section 2-AAAA.
Danny Simboro, Giuseppe Croce and Erich Bosch scored the goals for the Blue Devils.
Croce scored off a penalty kick to snap a 1-1 deadlock before Bosch provided the insurance goal with nine minutes to play. Croce added an assist on the goal.
For the Big Macs, Joey Fonagy scored early in the second half to tie the contest. Luke Gladden assisted.
PT outlasts USC
Peters Township defeated Upper St. Clair, 3-1, in girls volleyball.
The Indians won the first two sets, 25-18 and 25-22. They rebounded from a 25-16 loss in the third set to win the match, 25-19, in the fourth set.
Lauren Valentic led the attack, registering 17 kills and eight blocks. Abby Willot followed with nine kills and three blocks.
PT edges Baldwin
Jake Ference scored a pair of goals to lift Peters Township to victory, 2-1, against Baldwin in boys soccer action.
Dom Sambucco and Tyson Antosh assisted on the goals that came at 27:30 in the first half and 15:40 in the second.
Golf outing
Upper St. Clair Volunteer Fire Department will hold a golf outing Oct. 19 at Quicksilver Golf Course.
Action begins with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Registration begins at noon. The fee to attend is $100 per person.
Proceeds from the four-person scramble benefit the John M. Lekse Scholarship.
Lekse was a firefighter who recently died. His family started this event in lieu of flowers. The hope is the golf outing will raise funds to establish a scholarship available to any USC firefighter who wants to continue their education.
