FLAG RETIREMENT
A public American flag retirement ceremony will be conducted from 7 to 9 p.m. June 14 at the Bird Park fire circle in Mt. Lebanon.
Boy Scout Troop 22, chartered by the Southminster Presbyterian Church in Mt. Lebanon, has organized this solemn and respectful event.
Worn and damaged American flags, ready to be retired, can be dropped off, in advance, at 480 McCully St. in Mt. Lebanon, or in the designated box inside the main entrance to the library. They can be brought to the ceremony itself as well.

TOMAHAWK TOSS
The Fort Pitt Museum will hold a tomahawk toss from 1 to 4 p.m. beginning June 18 and continuing through July on Saturdays and Sundays.
Participants will learn the history of the tomahawk, which was used as a tool and a weapon in 18th-century America. They will also learning safety procedures and throwing techniques before taking a turn at the museum’s tomahawk toss range.
Fee is $5 and includes discounted admission to the museum.
FACEBOOK 101
The Peters Township Parks and Recreation Department will offer a program for ages 55 and over to learn the ins and outs of the Facebook app on June 17 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the community center.
Fee is $5 ($8 for non-members).
Registration deadline is June 15.
Participants should be a smartphone, tablet or laptop along with Facebook login information.

TROLLEY HOURS
The Pennsylvania Trolley Museum is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday during the summer.
The museum is opposite the Washington County Fairgrounds and can be found by taking Exit 41 off 1-79 and following the signs for three miles.

BP LIBRARY
Friends of the Bethel Park Public Library will hold a meet and greet at 6 p.m. June 16 and 10:30 a.m. June 22 in the library courtyard.
The volunteer organization advocates and promotes the library as a vital community asset. Its mission is to raise public and private funds, enhance marketing and public relation services, and to support and cooperate with the library in developing, maintaining, and enhancing facilities, resources, and services for the public.

GOLF OUTING
The Charlie Ross Memorial Charity Golf Outing will be held June 27 at The Club at Nevillewood.
Proceeds benefit Mainstay Life Services, which provides lifelong, high-quality support services to people with developmental disabilities.
Entry fee is $450 per golfer or $1,800 for a foursome and includes golf, putting contest, lunch, dinner and silent auction.

The Crusader Classic Golf Outing will be held Aug. 29 at Chartiers Country Club.
The event supports and provides tuition assistance to students and helps make improvements to the campus at Bishop Canevin High School.

SANDCASTLE
Celebrate the start of summer vacation during the month of June with Sandcastle’s Out of School, Into the Pool program.
Pittsburgh’s Hometown Waterpark is debuting its newest water slide, Bombs Away, this summer.
Daily events are scheduled through June 26. They include scavenger hunts, hula hoop, ice tub and ice cream contests, inner tube toss, flipper obstacle course, balloon artist, glitter tattoos, swimming with a mermaid, a meet and greet with characters and airbrush tattoos.

Washington & Jefferson College will conduct a volleyball camp June 26 from 9 a.m. to noon for students in grades 7-9 and from 1 to 4 p.m. for grades 10-12.
