Hansberry wins title
Griffin Hansberry of McMurray won the 103rd WPGA Junior Amateur Championship played June 12-13 at The Links at Spring Church.
The Peters Township rising junior shot a 4-under, 140 to finish four strokes ahead of runner-up Nolan Schilling, representing the Oakmont Country Club. Hansberry recorded eight birdies and made par on 24 holes. He carded a 69 on the first day of the competition and scored a 71 on the final 18 holes.
Hansberry’s teammates had good showings as well.
Colton Lusk posted a 72-73-145 score to finish five strokes off Hansberry’s winning pace and in fourth place overall.
Nicholas Haught and Ryan Watterson finished 16th and 26th respectively.
